Olalla Center Arcoíris Cultural Program Manager Alex Llumiquinga was honored Wednesday evening, Dec. 7, 2022, by OSU Extension Service for his collaborative work and community leadership. Llumiquinga was awarded both the OSUEA Cooperator Award and the ESP Friends of Extension Award. Llumiquinga was nominated by Renee Johnson at OSU Extension in recognition of his collaboration with OSU Extension through the “Juntos en Colaboración” project.
“We are so grateful to get to work with Alex through our partnership in Juntos en Colaboración,” said Dusti Linnell, PhD, OSU Assoc. Professor, “We couldn’t have done our work on COVID-19 and community garden programs without him.”
The ESP Friends of Extension Award is the highest recognition presented by an OSU Extension ESP chapter to a non-Extension (lay) person, company, organization or elected official and is designed to recognize truly outstanding support and personal involvement in Extension efforts.
OSU Extension Service Cooperator Awards (sponsored by OSUEA) honor individuals and businesses who have made significant contributions to Extension programming in Oregon. Extension cooperators include 4-H Leaders, Master Gardeners, Master Food Preservers, farmers and ranchers engaged in agricultural research, Master Woodland Managers and many other individuals, organizations and businesses who work in collaboration with Extension professionals to benefit all Oregonians.
