Olalla Center extends a warm welcome to Melissa (she/her) who joins our team as a Relief Nursery Teacher Assistant and Co-Volunteer Coordinator.
A life-long Oregonian, Melissa has lived all over the state, but most recently in The Columbia River Gorge. She has a background in early childhood education, special education, and children with special needs. Additionally, she is a graduate of the World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) program and has worked and lived on several farms in Oregon. Her passion for organic food also led her to run a retreat center on Mount Hood. She has volunteered her time at numerous festivals helping to provide Recycling and Composting, working with Domestic Violence Shelters and helping with Pride. Melissa loves travelling, and just returned to Oregon after nearly a month in Iceland with her partner. She can also be found playing soccer, hiking, surfing, white water rafting, flat water kayaking, camping, backpacking, cross-country skiing and going to live music events in her free time.
Welcome Melissa!
